As a Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer on this team you will be responsible for creating automated test coverage for both mobile app projects. The mobile app projects are primarily frontend focused and as such the automation you’ll be working with on the team is focused on the core user flows through functional, automated UI tests. You will work closely with the rest of the product team, including software engineers, quality engineers, UX designers, and product management.

What you will do:

You’ll introducing new functionality as needed by the team. In this role, you will be one of the primary subject matter experts for mobile app automation at the company. Innovation is encouraged and celebrated and you will be able to research, propose, and implement new technologies you’re interested in to support the needs of the organization. You will interface with other automation experts as well as software engineers and technical leadership to share ideas and plan quality goals.

It is also the goal of the team to expand mobile app testing across the company. In this role, you will be involved in mentoring and assisting engineers from different teams throughout the organization in setting up their own automated testing through the mobile apps.

Extensive, hands on experience with mobile app testing and/or release management will greatly benefit you in this role. Proficiency with mobile app development tools is preferred; particularly XCTest, Xcode, Android Studio, and device emulation/simulation. Experience with Java, Appium, and Jest is a plus.

Who You Are:

  • BS in Computer Science or related area, or commensurate work experience
  • 7+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer, Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), Software Developer, or similar Automation role
  • Demonstrated strong programming skills in Javascript, Java, or other OOP languages
  • Experience with Swift, Kotlin, or other languages in a mobile app development context is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience testing mobile applications
  • Have successfully implemented a continuous integration automation strategy
  • Experience enabling the teams with which you work to have high quality testing and best practices
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally to drive quality across the SDLC, including reviewing Production code, assisting with Design for testability, and using data to drive decisions about impact and rate of investment of test code
  • Proficient in mobile application testing, API testing, test framework development, and continuous improvement
  • Experience with designing test frameworks that are easily maintainable, resilient, performant and scalable
  • Proficiency at identifying and analyzing the root cause of complex bugs in your code as well as others’ code
  • Expertise knowledge in modern test automation frameworks is a plus, particularly, Appium, XCTest and Jest.

  • Researching and implementing tools that can be leveraged to improve quality
